And Works-In-Progress

Works-in-progress for Linnea include the 2016 submissions of two picture book manuscripts, another draft underway of her middle grade novel, more reading for a nonfiction story, and story ideas organized, more or less. A writer’s journey to find the right door to open in progress.

Linnea is sometimes on Facebook, Twitter, Blogspot, LinkedIn, Goodreads, Pinterest, and listed as a PAL member at the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators.

On Real Pages

Linnea’s first publication in writing for children on real pages is now out! Highlights Hello features her poem, “Bouncy,” in the Tell Me A Story section of the June 2015 issue. The August issue of Hello will publish another of Linnea’s toddler-sized poems.

Linnea’s Writing

Linnea Heaney’s lyrical picture book story, A REAL BEST FRIEND, found a first home and publication in a 2011 issue of Hunger Mountain: the Vermont College of Fine Arts journal. The story earned her PAL status with the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators. Linnea is also an awardee of the SCBWI International Conference Scholarship.

With her shiny PAL status at SCBWI, Linnea continues to write poems, picture books, and a middle grade novel. Past publications are in regional anthologies, academic writing in early childhood and emergent literacy, and art projects from photography to a Reach Out and Read mural. Writing is a journey and Linnea is on her own road.
